Mangaris® brand Red Balau, is a uniquely beautiful and extremely hard Mahogany from Indonesia. This rich red kiln-dried wood, containing fine golden brown highlights, provides a 20 year warranty. Suitable for outdoor and indoor applications.

Red Balau is a highly durable Mahogany from Indonesia. This hardwood's resistance to shrinkage, splintering and checking make it an ideal decking material.

Hard Wood Decking

This plantation grown hardwood from Indonesia is twice as hard as regular Mahogany, with less color variation than other hardwoods. Red Balau can be finished to maintain a "furniture look", or allowed to weather to a silver gray.

  • An extremely dense, tight-grained wood. Deep red with a minor amount of fine brown lines.
  • Surfaced-four-sides. Remains smooth and splinter free.

  • A reddish-brown wood that will fade to a weathered gray if left untreated. To retain the rich color, we recommend a high quality penetrating oil finish with ultraviolet inhibitors.

This product comes from well-managed permanent forests that are replanted in a program of sustainable agriculture. This program is overseen, coordinated and supervised by the Forestry Department of the Indonesian Government and is funded by the International Monetary Fund.
